Merry Christmas celebrations

It Christmas Eve, Mom and I went to Christine and Charles house to celebrate Christmas. We decided on a traditional meal so I found myself making not one but two turkeys.  At Thanksgiving, there was no leftovers for turkey sandwiches, so the kids wanted extra turkey for sammies.  I did well making my first turkey, stuffing and gravy (with Mom’s trusted assistance). This chore usually falls to someone else.  We met at Charles and Christine’s house, with everyone bringing their part of the meal.  We were stuffed.  We exchange gifts, allthough I still have mine to give as I did not have time to wrap mine,  Christine and Charles gave everyone a laptop!  I could not believe it.  It is wonderful to use.  I am taking it to work to do scheduling.  Alex received a wonderful Wolverine costume included some serious claws.  I also received some Nightmare before Christmas key chain lights.  This is my favorite movie. I like the characters that Charles got for me. I had to leave at 12:00am because I had to work on Christmas. I finally got to sleep at 2:00 am.  I was not looking forward to waking up at 6 am.  long face It was nice to spend time with everyone and catch up on things.  We all get so busy that we do not spend much time together.

A voice from the past

We received a phone call from one of Steve’s friend.  Rick S. said he thought of us and call to see how we ( Jo, Mom and I ) were doing.  He seems to be cleaning up his act and doing fairly well.  It was quite a surprise to hear from him and his mom.  We wish him the best and were touched that he call us.

A Good Thing

G-Ma and Iwent out to buy her a walker to use in the house.  We went to different stores without obtaining one.  We went to the food store and saw a nice one for sale, at least the pharmacy tech thought it was on sale.  When we went to pay for it, no price could be found.  The manager called another store and was told that they were not selling and could not be returned to the manufacturers.  Since they could not be sold, they offered the walker to us for $5.00.  Needless to say, we bought it.

Oh Christmas Tree

                                              (warning contains editorials)

I have wanted to buy a black Christmas tree and discovered one at Walmart,  I was pleased with my little treasure until the woman at the door would not let me passed until she marked my receipt that I had purchase it.  She fell short of wrestling me for it. “I have to mark it.“ she cried,  I told her that I had just purchased it and did not set off the alarm so she did not need to mark it,  She argued with me and would not let me leave unmolested.  mad  Needless to say, I will be returning the damn tree and other purchases.  I really wanted the tree but refuse to be treated like a common criminal.  Call me petty, but no.  It not like they do not have 30 cameras and a security system, they have to further treat you like potential criminal,  Enough I say.  I am tired of paying for the actions of others.  On a brighter note, I did find a black tree at another store for $15.00, half the price of Wallmart’s tree,  Yes, I got it and lo and behold. I was not wrestled to the ground to get it. grin
